Here are three easy-to-assemble breakfast ideas that will do your metabolism good!

Breakfast Toast

This is a ridiculously simple concept, but it’s a food trend that seems to keep on trending. Toast a piece of bread (go for whole wheat or rye) and top with mashed avocado and cheese, your favorite nut butter, strawberries and bananas, or light cream cheese, lox and walnuts. For an extra energy boost, top a piece of toast with chive and onion cream cheese, fresh basil, and fresh berries (blackberries and raspberries for a jolt of antioxidants.) Even top a piece of toast with thin slices of mozzarella, mango and lime zest! The possibilities are endless, and good health has never been easier to attain!

Don’t listen to the haters—when it comes to a breakfast that will boost your brain power at work, decrease mood swings or help you to ace that exam, you need fiber, protein and a low glycemic index food to keep you level. This breakfast is just what will keep your mood steady, and your metabolism buzzing. Fry an egg (even scramble one if frying isn’t your thing) and serve in half of a pitted avocado. Sprinkle a little salt and pepper, and you’ve just created a breakfast packed with protein and fiber—in less than five minutes!

Apple Pie Smoothie (Gluten-Free!)

Are your mornings so packed, that when you blink it’s noon and time for lunch? If so, say goodbye to an empty stomach and hello to a satisfied one. Blend together 1 cup of nonfat Greek yogurt (or nonfat plain yogurt), along with ½ cup of nonfat milk. Blend until smooth. Then add a handful of almonds, 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon, one banana and one apple. Enjoy!
