The whole point of detoxing is to give your body a break every once in a while – and chances are, even with a healthy diet, a much needed one.

Don’t just give your body a chance to eliminate toxins from processed foods, but give it that jump start it’s desperate for, of nutrients, vitamins and minerals to prevent disease and improve your present health.

Detoxing your body from time to time is a great way to purify your system and can easily be done by focusing on a strict fruit and vegetable plan, eliminating sugars and focusing on a whole food diet plan. Here we show you the way so you can have the energy and enthusiasm of a teenager again!

Eliminate Sugar for 4 Days

Studies have shown that when you begin a diet with detoxing, you become more easily able to lose the weight, and keep it off.  Sugar does one thing well – it gives you a temporary “high” by releasing a chemical in your body that makes you feel close to the sensation of what being in  love feels. But unlike true love, THIS feeling doesn’t last. However, the weight gain from eating the sugar does.

Focus on a four day plan, in which you will eat what you normally do (whole grains, vegetables, fruits and plenty of protein) but without any added sugar. Although everything from an apple to a glass of milk contains sugar, it’s the added sugar found in baked goods, pasta and those low-sugar cookies that will get you!

Eat Like Your Caveman Ancestors

While you probably have no interest in dealing without electricity and a working car like your ancestor relatives did, you might kill for their body. Eat like a caveman (or cavewoman) and become toned and fit as you should be. Focus on a week long diet that excludes any sort of processed food (pasta, bread, crackers, cookies, etc.) and eat whole grains, fresh fruit, vegetables, tea, water and avoid any sort of alcohol.
